A tragic story to hear about a 12-year veteran of the Colorado State Patrolman that was struck by a vehicle during the 2019 winter blizzard that hit Colorado yesterday.

According to the Colorado State Patrol 52-year-old Cpl. Daniel Groves was investigating an accident on Interstate 76 in Weld County when another vehicle slid off the road and struck and killed Cpl. Groves.

Such an unfortunate situation. It's uncertain at this time if any charges will be made. CSP stated in a press release, "that the accident is under investigation and high speeds during poor driving conditions could have been a possible cause."

The driver of the vehicle that hit Cpl. Groves is 58-year-old John Carpenter who received "moderate" injuries in the accident, authorities said.

Channel 4News reported that Colorado Governor Jared Polis has ordered that flags remain half staff until sunset on the day of Cpl. Groves memorial service.

Corporal Daniel Groves will never be forgotten.
