Colorado School Districts Clamping Down on Unvaccinated Children

Several school districts in Colorado are drawing the line on allowing unvaccinated children to continue to attend school and are now giving parents of unvaccinated children a deadline.

Vaccination rates in Colorado are some of the lowest in the country, and that can be dangerous if there's an outbreak.

The Boulder Valley School District shows the most unvaccinated children with nearly 1,100 so far. They are giving parents until December 2 to show proof of vaccinations or a statement of exemption.

Action is also being taken in Littleton schools, as they instructed unvaccinated students to stay home beginning Friday.

In Brighton, District 27J does not allow unvaccinated children in classrooms.

The Governor, Jared Polis, is asking for an additional $2.5 million dollars in the budget for next year to give to the health department to help increase vaccinations in children attending public schools.
