What an unusual event we are seeing unfold at the US Capitol today as supporters of President Donald Trump have stormed the Capitol after being urged to fight against the ceremonial counting of electoral votes which would then lead to the confirmation of our next president being Joe Biden.
There have been barriers set up, and officers in full riot gear prepared for what seems to be a very sense standoff. The House floor has since been evacuated by the police.
According to CNN, there is one woman who is in critical condition after being shot in the chest on the Capitol grounds.
The Department of Defense has received a request from the US Capitol Police for additional DC National Guard forces but that decision hasn't been made yet.
Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser has announced a citywide curfew that begins at 6:00 p.m. EST.
Both federal and local law enforcement are responding to reported pipe bombs around locations in Washington D.C. let's hope that no one else is injured or possibly killed tonight in our country.
