Six Colorado Music Venues Will Require Vaccinations

Following the almost non-existent concert season of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we're finally seeing concerts returning slowly but surely. However, we're not totally out of the woods just yet.

If you've been to a concert in Colorado featuring a nationally touring act in recent years, chances are that the show was either put on by Live Nation or AEG, and shows put on by the latter will come with a stipulation for concert-goers for an un-predetermined amount of time.

AEG Presents is a corporation that runs six concert venues in the state of Colorado. Those venues are the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, the Bluebird Theater on East Colfax in Denver, Fiddler's Green in Greenwood Village, the fairly new Mission Ballroom, the Gothic Theater just south of Denver, and the Ogden Theater, also located on East Colfax Avenue in Denver.

While all six of these venues will be hosting nationally touring acts in the near future, there is one stipulation - AEG will be requiring proof of vaccination for all concert-goers attending shows at these venues.

This new policy will apply to all six of the venues run by AEG Presents and will be put into place on October 1st, 2021. However, there will be one exception to the rule for those that have not been vaccinated, and that will be proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the show.

COO of AEG Jay Marciano had this to say about the decision:

Just a few weeks ago, we were optimistic about where our business, and country, were heading. The Delta variant, combined with vaccine hesitancy, is pushing us in the wrong direction again. We realize that some people might look at this as a dramatic step, but it’s the right one.
