A Colorado man has been arrested and is facing murder charges for killing his wife nearly a year after her disappearance.

It was Mother's Day weekend of 2020 when Suzanne Morphew, a mother living in Chaffee County, Colorado, went missing. The report was filed on Mother's Day, May 10, 2020, the day that Suzanne allegedly disappeared.

It's unclear as to who actually filed the report, but the 49-year-old woman has been missing ever since and numerous sources have pointed to her husband as having some hand in it for many months following.

In fact, searches were conducted by the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, local and state police, a dive team, and even the public.

Many of these organizations have been working tirelessly with the 11th Judicial District in Colorado to locate the missing woman, with the lead organization on the case being the Chaffee County Sheriff's Office.

As of today, it was announced that Barry Morphew, husband of the missing Suzanne, has officially been arrested in connection with the case and is facing serious charges, including first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and attempting to influence a public servant.

Not only have authorities been investigating the case for some time, but they received help from what has been reported as "hundreds of tips" from concerned citizens. In fact, it would appear that Barry was avoiding authorities for some time as well.

The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office plans to update the public on the story with news conferences, etc. as things unfold.
