The Colorado Mesa University softball team's stellar season helped them win the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season championship. Now, the team gets even more recognition, winning three RMAC awards.

CMU's Makayla Kovac is the RMAC Offensive Player of the Year. Her teammate Brooke Hodgson is Co-Defensive Player of the Year. CMU softball Head Coach Ben Garcia collected the Coach of the Year award.

Kovak, who has two RMAC Player of the Year Awards, also leads the conference in several offensive categories. Kovak ends her final season at CMU with the inaugural Offensive Player Award and an invitation to play on the All-RMAC First Team.

Hodgson, a sophomore, proved she could snag almost every ball that came her way in the field. At the plate, she proved to be a slugger with a .399 average and 50 RBIs. Hodgson was also selected to play on the All-RMAC First Team.

Garcia's Coach of the Year Award was well deserved as he steered the Lady Mavericks through 36 RMAC wins finishing the season with a 36-9 overall record and the conference championship.

Other CMU players named to the All-RMAC First Team are McKenzie Surface, Zoe Pakes, Nicole Robinson and Baylee Boren.

CMU's Alexandria Dufour was named to the All-RMAC Second Team.
