City of Fruita Calls for an ‘Emergency’ Ordinance to Ban Pot Clubs

Last night the Fruita City Council met to pass an "Emergency Ordinance" to ban Pot Clubs or bring your own Cannabis Clubs. In Denver Pot Clubs have been popping up everywhere. Basically, the Pot Clubs are a group of people who bring their own Pot, pay a cover charge, and sit around and smoke with other smokers.

Fruita was afraid this would happen to them and they want to protect their Private Property Rights. So the City Council unanimously passed this emergency ordinance. The temporary ordinance is only good for 61 days so the City will meet again on February 19th to try and pass a more lasting ordinance.

I don't see it being that big of an emergency. Whats the worst that could happen, a bunch of pot heads come out of the wood work and eat the local  Loco Convenience store out of all Little Debbie Snacks and Cheetos. I understand protecting Private Property Rights but I don't see how the two are related. So for now Pot Clubs are illegal in Fruita.
