Christmas Tree Lot Near Mesa Mall Asks Customers to Return
Who went out and got a Christmas tree this weekend? Lots of people did. It's a fun time of year to take the kids out and pick out the family tree, then bring it home to decorate and count down the days until Christmas.
Did you select your tree from the Boy Scouts Troop 303 who are operating a Christmas tree lot out front of the former Sutherland's near Mesa Mall? If you did, listen to this. Their credit card machine ran into some technical issues on Friday, November 29. According to information sent to us from Troop 303, anyone who visited the lot near Mesa Mall between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. did not actually get charged for their tree!
The poor kids! Lots of boy scouts and their parents worked pretty hard to sell trees as a major fundraiser on Friday, only to find out they sold about $1500 worth of trees but none of the charges went through.
They are asking anyone who came through on Friday the 29th between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to simply return to the lot so they can run your card again and complete the sale. Customers can check their card activity to see if their charge went through, but most did not. A loss of nearly $1500 really hurts their fundraising efforts, so anyone who purchased a tree from these good folks could make a big difference by checking your card to verify a charge. If you don't see one, you are probably one of many who drove off without actually paying for the tree.
Got to love technology! We hope the troops can recover the loss by getting the word out.
