Candlelight Vigil For Deputy Derek Geer

Grand Junction has united in blue for Derek Geer and for the rest of law enforcement that puts their lives on the line for our everyday living.

Wednesday, February 17, there will be another way to pay respect to Derek Geer and his family through a candlelight vigil. It will begin at 5:45 pm at Longs Park (3118 E 1/2 Road, next to Central High School).

Walmart is providing candles, but it is encouraged to bring your own if you have them because there is a limited supply of their stores. There will be a few moments of silence in memory of Deputy Derek Geer and candles will be lit at dark, at around 6:15 pm.

There will also be some friends and family placing blue tape on your vehicle if you don't have it already. Donation buckets will be there for the Geer family as well. Checks can be made out to The Derek Geer memorial Fund.
