Body of Missing Poudre River Rafter Found
The body of missing rafter David L. Smith was found Tuesday.
His identity was confirmed by the Larimer County Coroner's Office on Thursday morning.
Smith had gone missing on June 29 when he fell from his raft into the Poudre River. Crews searched for Smith for multiple days without initially locating him.
A kayaker then discovered Smith's body at around 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday near mile marker 112 on Highway 14 — about four miles downstream from where he was last seen.
According to a Larimer County Sheriff's press release, the body was recovered later Tuesday evening and handed over to the corner's office for an examination.
