Azealia Banks Dazed & Confused Magazine Cover Banned Outside of the U.S.

Not only is Azealia Banks a controversial figure in the social-networking community, she also is raising eyebrows overseas with a risqué Dazed & Confused magazine cover. According to the U.K.’s The Telegraph, the mag’s August issue has been banned in seven different countries.

The cover, which is unveiled today (Aug. 13), reportedly features Banks “posing with an inflated bright pink condom between her lips like a giant cigar. The magazine’s cover line reads, “Azealia Banks blows up.” The phrase is sort of a nod to Banks’ breakout song ’212,’ in which she raps, “B—- I’m ’bout to blow up too / I’m the one today, I’m the new s—, boo, young Rapunzel.”

Dazed and Confused is a popular British music and lifestyle magazine that is known for its daring covers. This might be the first time the magazine has been banned in countries outside of the United States. The editors of the magazine don’t seemed to be worried about the ban, in fact, they are reveling in it. They tweeted:

The Telegraph did offer some smart ideas to Dazed and Confused to help them get around the embargo. One good one was to simply shrink-wrap the magazine with a cover. Laddie magazines like Maxim do it sometimes if a cover shot of a model is too hot for newsstands. Azealia Banks is beaming over the attention she has been receiving so far. Not only is she the cover girl for Dazed and Confused magazine, but she also nabbed the cover of VIBE magazine’s “Juice” issue with hot producer Diplo. She tweeted:
