As a part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Montrose is holding an Awareness Walk to benefit the Dolphin House.

In addition to raising funds for Dolphin House, the April 30 walk is being held to raise awareness and support the fight against child abuse and neglect.

The Dolphin House Child Advocacy Center helps educate, provide advocacy and a safe environment for children who have been abused. The center serves counties in the 7th Judicial District including Delta, Gunnison, Hinsdale, Montrose, Ouray, and San Miguel.

The cost to participate in the walk is $25 for those who register by April 15. The 5k (3.3 miles) walk will start at 9:00 a.m. on April 30 at Calvary Chapel with a stop at the Dolphin House before returning to the church. All proceeds from the walk benefit the Dolphin House.

Participants who register by April 15 will also receive a ticket to a comedy show that night.
