I would have never in my life guessed that listening to a particular type of person, would tell about my personality.

According to a survey from Popsci.com, the type of music you listen to is directly connected to our personality. Mellow, Unpretentious, Sophisticated, Intense, and Contemporary music was used. The Participants were asked questions from the Empathy Quotient, then later asked to  rate 50 music excerpts from 26 genres and sub-genres of music, then they were asked to rate the songs that they heard.

Researchers found that people who scored high on empathy preferred what researchers categorized as “mellow” music—such as R&B, soft rock, and adult contemporary tunes—“unpretentious” music—such as country, bluegrass, and folk—and “contemporary” music—which included everything from acid jazz to Euro pop. They disliked “intense” music, such as punk, hard rock, and heavy metal.

In contrast, people who scored high on systemizing liked intense music, but disliked mellow and unpretentious musical styles.

So if you were to rate the type of music you listen to, where would you fall on the scale?
