We all know that 2020 has been a strange year, with everything from a toilet paper shortage to a coin shortage. But City Market has decided they want to do something to help out their customers for the next 5 weeks.

Each Wednesday until September 9th all City Market shoppers will enjoy a nice 10% discount on general merchandise as long as you have their City Market rewards membership card. The discount will be available for shoppers inside the store as well as those who choose their pick-up service.

The goal of this initiative is to show support for the community by making shopping a little easier for everyone. The stores are trying to also assist those who have additional hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some parents are really excited about this as they will take advantage of the savings for back to school supplies. But you also see reactions online of people not very happy about the decision because it is going to make more people occupy the stores on the same date which could lead to spreading more germs and a potential outbreak of COVID-19.

It will be interesting to see if this 10% discount creates a big push for shoppers to go to the store on Wednesday. As we all know 10% isn't huge but every dollar adds up and during these times it's good to cut costs whenever possible.

Will you be visiting City Market on Wednesdays to take advantage of the savings or stick to your normal shopping places and times?
