Governor Jared Polis expects all adults in Colorado to be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine by mid-April. The date of Phase 1B.4 has also been moved up.

Current COVID-19 Numbers + Phase

Governor Polis gave an update on COVID in Colorado recently and has moved up multiple dates. According to Governor Polis, there are currently 1,291 positive cases in Colorado, we've sadly lost 6,024 Coloradans to COVID-19, while 303 are in the hospital due to COVID-19. Polis stated that not enough people have been vaccinated in Colorado to see a definitive downward trend.

Governor Polis recommends everyone with any symptoms get tested for COVID-19. Colorado is currently in the 1B.3 Phase, which means people 60 and up and people with two preexisting conditions, and others are able to get vaccinated.

Next Phase Moved Up to March 19

Colorado will soon go into Phase 1B.4, which means frontline workers are eligible to get vaccinated. Governor Polis moved the date of Phase 1B.4 up which means anyone over the age of 50, restaurant workers, postal workers, and more can get the COVID-19 vaccine starting March 19.

All Adults in Colorado Eligible For Vaccine By Mid-April

About half of Coloradans are eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine once we move into phase 1B.4, according to Governor Polis. Governor Polis expects all Coloradans over the age of 18 to be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine by mid-April, according to KRDO.

The exact date will be released in the next couple of weeks, once the COVID-19 vaccine supply has been further refined.

Average Number of Vaccines Administered Per Week

76% of the 70 and up population in Colorado has been vaccinated thus far. An average of about 200,000 Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are administered every week in Colorado and that number is expected to increase. Every county in Colorado has six vaccination sites and each site is able to administer 6,000 vaccinations per day.
