Colorado is known for their brews, and Grand Junction has a great selection to choose from, here's a list of my favorites.

1. Dirty Hippie (Palisade Brewing Company)

Dirty Hippie is my absolute favorite beer, sometimes it's hard for me to even believe it's actually local. Dirty Hippie is a dark, unfiltered wheat beer. Once you try it, you'll see what I mean. It comes from the Palisade Brewing Company, in Palisade, Colorado.

2. Raspberry Wheat (The Rockslide Brewery & Pub)

This was my first beer, that I legally ordered at an establishment. The Raspberry Wheat from the Rockslide is a fantastic beer, even if you're not a beer drinker you will love this. It has just enough of that wheat beer flavor, with a hint of raspberry, it's delicious.

3. Lands End Amber (Kannah Creek Brewing Company)

Lands End Amber is my favorite amber in town. It's also one of the most popular beers in the area. As with the other local breweries, these guys have a ton of great beer, this is just by far my favorite of theirs.

4. Agave Wheat (Breckenridge Alehouse)

Known in GJ as just "The Alehouse", their beer is not brewed locally, but it is brewed in Colorado. Agave Wheat is a smooth wheat beer (are you picking up on the pattern here? Shea's a wheat beer guy! haha) If you're at the Alehouse, I highly suggest you order their Agave Wheat, it's pretty stellar.

5. Not Your Father's Root Beer (Thunderstruck Valley) (by Small Town Brewery)

Ok, this is not a locally brewed beer, but it's so good I had to mention it because it is one of my favorites and you can get it in Grand Junction. Thunderstruck carries an Ale called "Boot Beer", it's an ale that they spice to taste JUST like Root Beer. It's phenomenal, and it's delicious and I highly suggest it.
