150+ Snakes Removed from Colorado Home
Couple Shaynon McFadden and Royce Robins, found out they have an infestation of over 150 snakes on their property in Elizabeth, Colorado.
They bought their home in November of 2018, in spring garter snakes started to show up near the back deck.
As the weather got warmer more snakes were popping up "in the yard, under the deck, around the foundation and even inside the home", according to 9News.
When they had enough of the snake sightings they hired an exterminator who found a large snake den underneath the back deck. Over 150 snakes were found, removed and relocated.
The homeowners were unaware of the den when they purchased the home.
By law, Colorado sellers and realtors have to disclose all material property facts to potential buyers.
A spokesperson for the Colorado Association of Realtors, a nonprofit real estate trade association with more than 26,000 members, said a snake infestation would qualify as a material fact that would have to be disclosed, regardless of efforts by the owner to fix the problem, according to 9News.
The couple spent approximately $8,000 in total for a new deck, shed and pest control.
