YouTube has cut ties with Logan Paul after the viral streaming star posted a disturbing video on December 31 that showed footage of a man who had killed himself in a Japanese forest.

“In light of recent events, we have decided to remove Logan Paul’s channels from Google Preferred,” a YouTube spokesperson said. “Additionally, we will not feature Logan in Season 4 of ‘Foursome’ and his new originals are on hold.”

Paul and three other social media entertainers starred in the YouTube Red comedy series “Foursome." The third season premiered in November.

YouTube finally responded to the controversy yesterday (January 9), over a week after the video posted. The streaming mogul apologized for the delayed response and said it was looking into further consequences.

Paul deleted the video immediately after receiving backlash, but not before it racked up six million views. He then filmed and uploaded an apology on his YouTube channel on January 2, stating “I should've never posted the video...I do not deserve to be defended," he said. "I’m ashamed of myself. I’m disappointed in myself. And I promise to do better. I will do better.”
