Your Pick for the Grand Valley's Best Coffee House

In celebration of National Coffee Day, I asked you to tell me about your favorite Grand Valley coffee house. After a week of voting we have the results. Here's your pick for the valley's best.

We've conducted this survey before, but several new shops have opened since then. When it comes to a great place to go for a cup of coffee, where will you find the valley's best? For this survey, we were looking for places where you can order a cup of coffee, and then sit down and enjoy it in a comfortable, inviting atmosphere.

Think of various Starbucks locations you can visit. I can think of five off the top of my head. No matter where you are in the valley, there's one nearby. I see Trailhead Coffee and Cafe is under new ownership. As a matter of fact, they're now offering live music from time to time. There you go, another locally owned and operated business offering an inviting, entertaining atmosphere form which you can enjoy your coffee.

We asked you to tell us about your favorite. The poll started with a long list of candidates, and before long, received a handful of write-in votes. Ultimately, we had a lengthy list of awesome coffee houses for you to visit. In the end, though, we were looking for your number one pick for the best in valley.

And.... we have a bit of a problem. Coming in first place, it's Jitterz at 644 North Avenue in Grand Junction. I can personally vouch for the quality of their coffee. At the same time, though, I don't know that their shop constitutes a "coffee house." Obviously, they serve coffee and related goodies. But, their business is a drive up.

What to do? How about we call it a tie? The popular vote goes to Jitterz. But, considering this is a search for the best "coffee house," the venue fitting that description receiving the most votes would be the runner up, Mountain Grind Coffee Company @ Sugar & Ice Co at 950 North Avenue in Grand Junction.

Why don't we congratulate both venues? Obviously, you love the products and services of both locations. For that matter, several area businesses received tons o' love from you when it comes to their delicious coffee. Congratulations to all the nominees.
