Who’s Moving Into the Empty Restaurant on the Redlands?

First it was a Wendy's. Then it was a Mexican restaurant. Now, someone new is moving into the vacant building next to Safeway on the way to the Redlands in Grand Junction. Who's moving in?

If you go back in time a few years, there used to be a Wendy's in the Redland's shopping plaza at 2516 Broadway. It eventually closed, and Aztecas Family Mexican Restaurant opened a location in the building. It eventually closed and relocated to Horizon Drive.

If you drive by the building, you'll see construction is underway. The first thing you notice is the bright orange paint job has been replaced with light grey and blue trim. Prior to the new paint, this building was one of the only man-made objects visible from outer space.

I peeked through the windows yesterday morning (September 22, 2019), and took a gander at the build-out in prgress. Judging by the remodel, this most definitely won't be another restaurant. So, who are the new neighbors?

Please make welcome Canyon Country Animal Hospital. The name should sound familiar. The vet clinic has been around for some time at the same shopping center. At present, you'll find them in Unit B-10, right next to Redlands Liquor.

Looking at the clinic's logo, I now realize I've seen this business at various events over the years. To date I've never done business with them. Looking at Yelp! and other sites, this clinic has excellent reviews.

Congratulations on your new location. I spoke with the receptionist, and according to her, the new facility will be open in November.
