Western Colorado Coffee House Raises Big Bucks for Roice Hurst Humane Society

Animal lovers came out in force yesterday when a locally owned and operated coffee house in Grand Junction sponsored a fundraiser for Roice Hurst Humane Society.

Laughing Dog Coffee House at 413 Monument Road in Grand Junction was the scene when hundreds of people came out to enjoy breakfast with proceeds going to the local animal shelter. The event, "French Toast For Furry Friends," offered a French Toast breakfast in exchange for a $5 donation to Roice Hurst. At times during the event, patrons were lined up clear to the door.

Roice Hurst Humane Society volunteer Kayla Holsan and Events Coordinator Shannon Freed were on hand to take donations and provide information about the organization.

Donation totals will not be released until Wednesday.
