For sky watchers, this is the perfect time of the year  to catch a glimpse of Venus next to the crescent moon in the night time sky. But, you should also be on the lookout for our solar system's largest planet.Soon after sunset if you look for the moon in the southwest sky, you will see Venus shining brightly beneath it. Even as bright as Venus is now, according to EarthSky.com, it will reach it's greatest brilliancy in early December. Amateur photographers should have plenty of cool photo opportunities.

Tonight you'll also have the chance to see another planet, as Jupiter climbs over the east-northeast horizon around mid-evening. Before bed time, face the east and look for the brightest object in the sky. That's Jupiter. If you are familiar with the constellation Gemini, you'll see Jupiter passing through it.

The forecast for Western Colorado is for partly cloudy skies, so there's probably a 50/50 chance of catching a glimpse of Jupiter.
