UCHealth Greeley Hospital Welcomes 100th Baby
Roll out the blue decorations, because the 100th baby born at the UCHealth Greeley Hospital is a boy.
Gael Recendiz was born in UCHealth Greeley at 4:08 p.m. last Saturday (September 21), becoming the hospital's centennial baby just about three months after its opening on July 3.
Measuring 20 inches long and weighing 8 pounds and 1 ounce, Gael is the son of proud parents Mayra Villalobos and Adrian Recendiz of Mead.
He is the couple's first boy, but they are no strangers to parenting, as Gael will soon be joining his three older sisters.
He was delivered by Dr. Amy Johnson, an obstetrician at the hospital. After his arrival, the birth center team rewarded the family with a teddy bear, a baby blanket, and a special frame to celebrate.
Delivering their 100th baby is a big accomplishment for the new hospital, said Tammy Piccone, director of nursing at the birth center, stating that it is an honor "...to help bring new life into the world."
The hospital's birth center, which includes a C-section operating room, provides private suites with optimal amenities, so that new mothers can obtain maximum comfort.
It also houses a Level II special care nursery for babies who need a little extra help after birth.
Outside of the birthing unit, the hospital features an ICU, operating room, a trauma center, a pharmacy, and more.
Welcome to the world, Gael.
