Cardi B, Tiffany Haddish + Shawn Mendes Among Time’s 100 Most Influential People
Time magazine has unveiled its annual list of the 100 Most Influential People, featuring celebrities, activists, and politicians.
Among the stars featured are Invasion of Privacy rapper Cardi B, Girls Trip star Tiffany Haddish, Big Little Lies‘ Nicole Kidman, Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman and his director Ryan Coogler, Wonder Woman lead Gal Gadot, and late night host Jimmy Kimmel. Also included are President Donald Trump; a group of survivors of the Parkland, Florida school shooting; and journalists Jodi Kantor, Megan Twohey, and Ronan Farrow, who helped uncover the sexual assault allegations against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
According to CBS, the list is the magazine's "youngest" to date, with 45 honorees aged under 40. At 14-years-old, Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown is the youngest person ever to make the list.
USA Today also reported that the list has a record number of women, including #MeToo founder Tarana Burke and human rights activist Nice Nailantei Leng’ete, who has worked to end female genital mutilation in Kenya.
"The TIME 100, always a reflection of its moment, looks quite different than in the past," Time Editor-in-Chief Edward Felsenthal wrote in a letter explaining how the magazine chose the 100 people featured. "Influence increasingly knows no single zip code and no minimum age."
