This walleye caught at Boyd Lake State Park in Colorado is a seriously nice catch. Take a look at the walleye that's about 3 inches shy of beating the state record.

Kyle Bowen from Thornton lucked out and caught a monster walleye at Boyd Lake State Park. His walleye is 30.5 inches long and super close to beating the state record. Kyle was only 3.5 inches from beating Colorado's state record.

Kyle isn't the only fisherman to catch monster fish at Boyd Lake State Park in Loveland. Eric Sheeley says he caught a walleye that was 31.75 inches long about 15 years ago. It seems like this is a hotspot for monster walleye.

Josh Her is also from Thornton and showed us another nice catch from Boyd Lake. Josh says he caught this walleye last year in early November.

Josh says this walleye was exactly 30 inches and unlike Kyle, he caught his from the shore. The walleye was a whopping 9 pounds. Josh caught this reel fishing, with Dynamic Lures J-Spec Jerkbait.  It's awesome Josh shared where and how he caught this monster walleye. And it's especially awesome that he shared what kind of bait he was using too.

Josh has also caught large and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout and lots of panfish. Some fishermen like to keep everything a secret, so thanks for sharing with us Josh.
