Just when we thought the twists of cancellation season were at an end, NBC is making history. Despite officially declining to order a second season of Timeless this past week, the network has apparently changed its mind and greenlit Season 2 after all.

First they dropped a surprise reunion on you, then the official revival got upped with additional episodes, and now Will & Grace are returning earlier than you thought. A first poster for the NBC favorite’s return promises a fall premiere for Karen, Will, Grace, Jack and all the rest.

SNL has one heck of a Season 42 finish ahead, to follow Louis C.K. with Jimmy Fallon, Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy and The Rock, and live on every coast at that. Of all those names, however, McCarthy might build the most anticipation, as the Sean Spicer impressionist says she’s already squirreling away notes for the next appearance.

In the election’s immediate aftermath, we had to wonder if Alec Baldwin had the SNL commitment to keep playing Trump as necessary for such a weekly target. Baldwin’s been a sport since November, even pivoting the impression into other mediums, but may hang up the wig before long . “I don’t [know] how much more people can take it.”

The traditional SNL promos of a week’s host paired with a cast member may be no more, but do we at least get a big La La Land-style musical number in exchange? Almost! Emma Stone returns to SNL in the first December 2016 promos, but … well, something’s in the way.

Magic Mike or no, there simply hasn’t been enough occasion for Channing Tatum or Jenna Dewan Tatum to dance in recent years, let alone together, and NBC desperately seeks to rectify that. The two will shepherd a “fresh take” on a new NBC reality dance competition, both appearing and starring.

Among many aspects of the original Xena revered by fans, there was the layered, lifelong relationship between Lucy Lawless’ title character and Renee O’Connor’s Gabrielle that grew to carry distinct romantic undertones. NBC’s proposed reboot has only a script in the works for now, but promises to fully explore the pair’s relationship, without confining anything to subtext.

Just days into the movie’s run as the most successful R-rated opening of all time, Deadpool seemingly broke a fifth wall with a 20,000-strong petition to host SNL, or at least Ryan Reynolds in character. Take your pick of reasons that would never happen, but now Deadpool has given an official response, dragging Kanye West’s recent backstage tirade into the mix.

Just when it seemed enough time had past that NBC might simply have forgotten its ill-advised ‘Heroes’ revival ‘Heroes Reborn,’ someone went and reminded them. Following the lone casting of original series star Jack Coleman, the peacock now reports that ‘Chuck’ star Zachary Levi will lead the new incarnation of Tim Kring’s ‘Heroes’ in a major role.

Although 'SNL' previously parodied all the movie adaptations of the most obscure young-adult novels, all past sketches have nothing on 'The Group Hopper.' It's one thing to dress the cast in 'Hunger Games' outfits and make fun of one of the biggest movie franchises in the world. It's another thing altogether to create a fake movie trailer for a fake new franchise and make it seem strangely plausible while eviscerating every movie of this kind out there.
