The Pro Bowl has been around since the early 70's when the AFC and the NFL merged. Since then the Pro Bowl has been held on the Sunday after the Super Bowl except for the past few years. The NFL changed the date of the Pro Bowl in 2010 to play the week before the Super Bowl.

When they decided to move the Pro Bowl before the Super Bowl they didn't have a lot of fan support. Even players and coaches didn't like the move. Now the Pro Bowl has become some what of a joke. Ya, the players and coaches get to enjoy Hawaii, good for them. The game itself is just hard to watch and not very entertaining. Last year, 2012, it was so bad that the Commissioner told players in 2013 if they played anything like they did in the previous year he would cancel the Pro Bowl.

Compared to other All-Star games, MLB, NHL, NBA, the NFL Pro Bowl needs a lot of work. It's one of the more physical games, and players don't want to get injured in a game of fun and entertainment. So I don't blame them for not taking the game serious. I personally watched maybe a total of 5 minutes of this years Pro Bowl. I think it should be canceled but that players should still be voted for the Pro Bowl or All-Star Team just for recognition.
