Selena Quintanilla Will Receive Posthumous Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Selena Quintanilla will be honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame more than two decades after her death, Variety reports.
The Latino music star, who was shot and killed at 23, will receive the star on November 3.
“Selena deserves the star,” said Edward James Olmos, who starred alongside Jennifer Lopez in Selena, the biopic about Quintanilla "Her music stands the test of time. She was a brilliant artist. I just wish she were here. It’s not fair."
Quintanilla was a bona fide Tejano music superstar in her short career, racking up 14 Billboard Latin Music Awards, as well as one Grammy win. She still casts a large shadow, as well, inspiring other artists and having a continued impact on pop culture.
Quintanilla's sister, Suzette, is slated to appear at the ceremony, as is Eva Longoria.
