Will New Mexican Restaurant in Colorado Succeed Where Others Have Not?
Three restaurants in recent history have given this Loveland location a shot, only to see their luck run out. Is it the location, or just bad luck and poor management? You have to give these folks credit for giving it a shot.
This particular restaurant is brand new; they have no other locations at all. Brave. Brave is the word I would use as they prepare to win this Loveland area over and succeed.
6020 Stallion Drive is the address of this new place, which has also been the address of several other restaurant ventures.
WHO HAS HAD THAT LOCATION?
- For many years it was a Perkins. I never made it into Perkins.
- Then, it was Luby’s for a couple of years. I thought they were OK but not super.
- Giordano’s Chicago-Style Pizza barley made it year (if that). I never got the chance to get into Giordano’s while they were there.

WHAT’S SO WRONG WITH THE LOCATION?
It’s not exactly on the “beaten path;” I’m sure a lot of people drive by and say, “Ooh, we need to check that place out,” on their way to Budweiser Events Center, The Boot, The Summit, Nordy’s, or Fuzzy’s Tacos. If this new restaurant really has something to stop in for, that will help.
SO WHO IS COMING TO THE LOCATION?
Ruben’s Grill & Cantina. There’s little information available for the restaurant aside from the last name of the LLC: Ortega LLC. The name does bode well for a Mexican restaurant/bar. Let’s keep our eyes out for when they open, so we can help them last.
