For those of us who really enjoy getting out and taking in the Riverfront Trail, there is exciting news.

The City Of Fruita has plans to extend the Riverfront Trail. This is spectacular news for not only downtown Fruita, but for the people who walk, bike, and enjoy the trail all the way through Grand Junction.

The trail that currently ends in Fruita, will now be extended to the town of Loma. What does this mean? The Lower Little Salt Wash Trail will be built, and this will then extend to the current Riverfront Trail and then connect to the Kokopelli section. That is about an extra 5 miles or so of trail.

The City Of Fruita will be using money from a grant to begin construction, along with monies from Riverfront Foundation.

This addition is going to give everyone in the Valley a whole new way to travel, in a much healthier way, and also provide even more beautiful views to see along the way.
