One group in Western Colorado has made it known they don't support the decision to change the name of a Grand Junction Street. The group opposing the name change from North Avenue to University Boulevard will host a meeting tomorrow, Saturday, August 27.

This group has their own Facebook page, They are hoping to present the Grand Junction City Council with 2,000 signatures from Grand Junction registered voters. At present, the Facebook group alone totals 794 members.

What would 2,000 signatures accomplish? According to WesternSlopeNow.com, it would give councilors a choice to either keep the ordinance or rescind it and vote the ordinance into law.

The meeting gets underway at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 26, at the Orchard Mesa Baptist Church at 2748 B 1/2 Road in Grand Junction.
