Not sure if someone was desperate for supplies for their family or if this was criminals being mischievous, but someone burglarized the Family Dollar store in Orchard Mesa last night or early this morning.

The details were shared online this morning by an employee who showed up for work only to find the glass front door was smashed in. Without entering the building just in case someone was still there, the employee called 911. Law enforcement officers are investigating the scene now.

It looks like at this point that the person or persons responsible cut the lock off their electrical box and cut power to the building so their security alarm system never went off.

The good news is that no one was hurt throughout this ordeal, it's just tough to see stuff like this after the whole community is already being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
