This Twitter Account Shows Us Awesome Photos From Colorado’s Past

Want to take a trip back in time through the history of Colorado? We've got some pretty great photos from time past in the state of Colorado and it is all thanks to one Twitter user sharing them on social media for all of us to see.

Old Colorado Photos on Twitter has gone through the digital photo archives from the Denver Library and shares many unique photos from the past. Here are some of the many photos that I found interesting.

Cutler Hall at Colorado College in Colorado Springs

Cutler Hall still stands to this very day in Colorado Springs with a few minor modifications to the structure.

The 16th Street Mall in 1906

Here is what the intersection looks like now.

There was not much of a skyline in Denver between the years of 1890 through 1910.

The capital building still stands unchanged to this day.

This Colorado mansion is one of the biggest homes in the state.

Today, this address sits behind secure gates and is a single-family home. According to Wikipedia, this home is known as the Phipps Mansion and was built between 1931 and 1933. The mansion is a whopping 33,000 square feet.

Around a century later, this building looks the same as it did when the photo was taken.

West Side High School turned into Baker Junior High and now is the Denver Center for International Studies.

Royal Gorge Bridge

The Royal Gorge Bridge was built in 1929 in just six months. Wikipedia states that the Royal Gorge Bridge was the highest bridge in the world from 1929 to 2001. Until 2012 the Royal Gorge Bridge was one of the ten highest bridges in the world.

Today, the church in Denver is known as the City Church Denver located at 50 Acoma Street.
