National Geographic Names Denver as One of the Best of the World

Colorado's capital city of Denver has earned high marks from National Geographic as one of the best places in the world.

The Mile High City took fourth place coming in just behind Helsinki, Finland, Costa Rica and the number one place, Copenhagen, Denmark.

The list of eight destinations is based on sustainability. Everything from carbon-neutral goals to wildlife tourism. Denver lands on the list for the goal of achieving 100 percent renewable energy, 125 miles of new bike lanes by 2023.
