It's gut-check time, and I want you to be honest. Let's just say you're going about your normal day and all of a sudden you notice something on the grass. It catches your eye so you investigate a bit further. As you approach the item that caught your attention you realize it's $300 in cash. What would you do? That is the exact dilemma a 22-year-old from Moab was faced with and let's just say he made his mother proud.

The information was released by the Moab City Police Department about a woman that reported losing $1,400 in cash near the City Market in Moab. It was just a short time later that this 22-year-old called dispatch as said that he found $300 on a road near the store. The police dispatch told the good samaritan about the lost money and he returned to City Market and found an envelope with an additional $1,000 inside.

This young man at such a young age (and probably broke too) was a shining example of what we all SHOULD do in that situation. But not everyone would be so honest, which is why I wanted to share this story. I wish I knew his name and had a photo for you so I could praise him further for his actions.

To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
