BEHOLD: The Winners of the Mesa County Puffer Selfie Contest
These lucky winners won't have to sit in the cold any longer. They are the winners in the Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff's Office "Puffer Week Selfie Contest."
As you are probably already aware, leaving your car unattended while it warms up is a big no-no. In Colorado, authorities are constantly reminding us "puffing" is not allowed.
So, what do you do if you have a car that's been out all night and is ice cold? Who wants to sit in that while it takes an eternity to warm up? As you can see above, the one lady looks like she's about to engage in the WWF's Saturday Night Main Event. The other lady looks like she's set up camp for the night.
In both cases, they won't be cold any longer. They've both just won remote starts for their vehicles. The remote starts were donated by CATPA Battle West, and free installation of the remote starts will be provided by Konnected Auto Restylin. The prizes have an estimated value of $430 each.
For the record, Bernie doesn't get a remote start system. He is simply a guest in the photo. The contest was limited to Mesa County residents only.
Entries began back on January 25, 2021. Entries were submitted via Facebook Messenger to either the GJPD or the MCSO. From there, a panel selected the top two photos.
I'm delighted this contest went so well. When it was first announced, I wasn't sure people would want to participate. Obviously, though, with amazing prizes to be won such as the remote start systems, Mesa County residents jumped on board. Congratulations to both winners.
