The Mesa County Library is full of books on art techniques, but now young artists can learn first hand about how to take what's in a book and put it on paper.

Teens will be given hands-on instruction in continuous contour line drawing and color theory. Once the projects are finished, the students are encouraged to display their artwork at the library gallery so visitors can see and understand what this style of drawing looks like.

Continuous line drawing is a technique used to improve drawing skills by increasing observations and learning to see movement of the lines... Paticipants will explore color theory by learning about a variety of color schemes.."

The free workshop is June 22 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. and is open to teens from 12-18 years old. The library will provide all the supplies needed for the workshop.
