It would be safe to say that I'm kind of a nerd, well, not kind of, I am a nerd. We are just weeks away from Comic Con being here in Grand Junction. When I found out there's a Comic Con here I was stoked.

If you have a little nerd in you, this a day for you. Mesa County Libraries Comic Con and Cospalooza at The Avalon - featuring Kirby Krackle will be a full day event. Doors open Saturday, October 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Two Rivers Convention Center.

Admission is free with a Mesa County Library Card or a $5.00 donation at the door.

This epic event will include, fandom meet-up, video games, big screen video games, photo booth, music, costume party, plus a rock concert to wrap up the evening.

Cosplayers can end the day with Cospalooza! Music party starting at 7 p.m. at The Avalon, with Kirby Krackle and special guest TekForce.

This will benefit The Avalon's Theatre Foundation to help enrich, elevate and care for the magnificent theatre and to help bring more events like this that you can be part of. Tickets are available now and prices vary.

Did I mention, a POW, BAM, WOW GREAT TIME?

If all of this joviality wasn't enough of a thrill, Cosplay will help teens  12 - 19 years of age learn how to make their own costumes. There are several rules for Cosplayers.

Cosplay costume events will be held the next three Saturdays, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Central Library with a theme to your design. Experts and a special guest will host the function.

Make sure to stay for the whole event ... only amateurs leave early.
