Man Drives Across U.S. + Adopts Dog He Found in a Colorado Canyon
This man is saving this dog yet again. He drove cross country to adopt a dog he found in Poudre Canyon in Colorado.
In January, Matthew Glatz was on a ski trip in Fort Collins when he found something that changed his life forever. He was hiking in Poudre Canyon when he saw a tiny and very emaciated dog.
Every single rib was showing, she weighed only 34 pounds and had porcupine quills stuck in her cheek. They gained each other's trust and the dog followed Matthew into his truck. Matthew said that he fed her, then she fell asleep with her head in his lap.
Matthew took the dog, Amelia, to the 6-8 months. They scanned her for a microchip and found out her owners were no longer able to care for her. Poor Amelia had been missing for 6-8 months.
After lots of food, surgeries, healing, and love in her foster home, Matthew found out she would be available for adoption. So Matthew drove 1,200 miles to pick up Amelia and save her yet again.
The Larimer Humane Society said Matthew and Amelia seemed like life-long friends. She jumped into his truck (complete with a dog bed) and kissed his face. These two have shown us that love truly knows no distance.
