A Loveland resident says her "adrenaline was flowing" while catching a few rare photos of a mother and her cubs near 1st St.

Loveland resident Sally Wabeke is warning people to be alert after she posted a few photos of a mother bear and her cubs on Facebook Tuesday. (July 21) The bear family was photographed at 1st avenue near the river.

If you walk/ride the bike path by the river, especially off 1st Street, be aware of your surroundings. It has been an active summer for wildlife. We’ve seen deer, elk, bobcat, coyotes and last night a momma bear and 2 cubs. Keep your pets close.

These three have been seen all around west Loveland. One comment on the post says they've been seen in "Mariana Cove neighborhood".

Another resident in the area said, "I saw them crossing SW 14th ST at the railroad tracks last night around 9:30".

If you're beating the heat by swimming in the river this summer, stay alert as another person commented, "My son and I accidentally rode our bikes right behind them as they got out of the river at about 830 last night. They ran. I hope and pray that if they cause a ruckus that the humans stay quiet and keep the bears from being euthanized."

Colorado Parks and Wildlife are reminding people to be alert and watch our pets and small children. Find out how to be more "Bear Aware" HERE.
