A sandwich chain with stores in Western Colorado will be donating meals to feed America's hungry. In honor of "National Sandwich Day," Subway restaurants in Grand Junction will be donating meals to Feeding America.

Thursday, November 3, America celebrates "National Sandwich Day." It sounds like some quaint, silly little holiday, but to those in the sandwich biz, this is a BIG deal. According to the manager at the Subway located on Orchard Mesa in Grand Junction, their store gets hammered every year on this holiday.

Subway stores nationwide will be doing two things on Thursday, November 3:

  • Buy a sub and 30-ounce drink, you'll get any sub for FREE
  • Buy a sub, pizza, or salad, along with a 30-ounce drink, and Subway will donate a meal to Feeding America.

Who exactly is Feeding America? According to their web page, their mission statement reads:

Feeding America is a nationwide network of food banks and the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Together, we help provide food to more than 46 million people through 60,000 food pantries and meal programs.

This is a win-win all the way around. Enjoy a great sub, plus your free sub, and support those who might be going hungry. Celebrate "National Sandwich Day" with an awesome offer from your local Subway.
