Local Control of Minimum Wage to Happen in 2020 in Colorado

Currently, the minimum wage in Colorado is $11.10 per hour. Normally whatever the current minimum wage is that's what it is statewide.

Now in certain areas such as Denver, Boulder, Aspen, and Vail, will see a rise in minimum wage jump to $12 per hour.

Governor Jared Polis has signed into law a new bill allowing Colorado cities to have a higher minimum wage than the state standard.

Before certain cities could only control public sector minimum wage but now private is included.

In some politicians minds, they believe that the cost of living is obviously more expensive and the minimum wage should be higher as well.

Others disagree.

At this time there are no current records of any city requesting for their city to higher the minimum wage.

Of course, this very controversial between different parties and cities. It'll be interesting to see what comes of all this and how it'll affect certain areas.
