In Poland they love their wiener dogs probably as much as we do -- they have a day to dress up their little sausage dogs in costumes and parade them around town. Kind of like our wiener dog races in Grand Junction. Take a look a some of these cute costumes.

Krakow, Poland is on their 18th Annual Dachshund Parade where residents dress up their little wieners in awesome costumes. Hundreds of residents crowd the streets of Krakow to show off their little sausages.

This is very similar to what we do here with our 5th Annual "Wiener Dog Races Downtown Grand Junciton."

This year we have close to 100 little wieners racing in running their little legs off for bragging rights as the "fastest wiener dog" on the Western Slope!

Maker sure you register your wiener if you think he has the legs to win. Here are a few things you need to know:

  • The races are open to all wiener dogs that are full breed no half breeds!
  • Wiener racers will need to check in by 12 noon
  • The wiener walk starts at 12:30 (warm up those little legs)
  • Wiener races start at 1pm!
If you don't have a Wiener Dog you can always ask your friend if you can borrow his/her wiener! Or just come down and watch the little sausages race!

The winner of the wiener dog races gets the bragging rights for the next year! Last years winner Levi hailed from Durango, Colorado! **Pictured below.
