Grand Junction, Colorado Elementary Students + Spreading Kindness

Students from Broadway Elementary spread kindness by doing things like volunteering at Food Bank of the Rockies, putting together “sunshine baskets” for patients at St. Mary’s Cancer Center, making similar baskets for residents at a local retirement home, participating in the Grand Valley River Cleanup, writing thank-you notes to first responders, and baking cakes for the school’s custodians.

After logging 2,000 acts of kindness, Broadway Elementary put 2,000 pinwheels on the school’s front lawn to commemorate the achievement.

The students’ efforts have been recognized by Colorado Public Radio, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, and numerous others for this remarkable act of spreading joy and kindness.
