4th of July Fun: Balloon Festival Returns to Delta Colorado
For the second year in a row, the city of Delta, Colorado will be celebrating Independence Day, as well as the entire weekend accompanying it, with a massive celebration known as the Western Sky Balloon Festival.

As one can assume given the name of the festival, hot air balloons will certainly be floating around in the Delta sky, but there will be plenty of other activities over the span of Thursday, July 4 through Sunday, July 7.
Delta Colorado Western Sky Balloon Festival - July 4 Events
The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with the Independence Day Parade down Main Street, followed by an evening glow at 8:30 p.m. and the 4th of July fireworks show at 9:45 p.m.
Delta Colorado Western Sky Balloon Festival - July 5 Events
Friday morning sees the balloons ascend at 6 a.m., followed by a pancake breakfast at 7, and mud volleyball at 9.
After a slight break, the festivities kick off in Confluence Park at 4 p.m. with the beer garden and food trucks opening at 5. Then at 6, magician and comedian Dewayne Hill will take the stage, followed by another evening glow at 8:30.
Delta Colorado Western Sky Balloon Festival - July 6 Events
Saturday mirrors Friday's balloon ascension and pancake breakfast, with a Christmas in July craft fair beginning at 7 a.m., a doubles disc golf tournament beginning at 7:30, a cornhole tournament beginning at 9, and the main family-friendly activities including bounce houses, face painting, balloon artistry and more kick off at 9 a.m. as well.
All throughout the day, the festival will feature other activities including a beer run relay, paddleboard race, marshmallow eating contest, fire department spray-down, and much more.
Live music from Colorado's Remi Mae then kicks off at 4 p.m., followed by a performance from David Starr and Erik Stucky at 6.
Delta Colorado Western Sky Balloon Festival - July 7 Events
Sunday will see the festival wrap up with one final balloon ascension scheduled for 6 a.m.
It should also be noted that many of the festivities, including balloon ascensions and evening glows are weather permitting.
