One of these iconic shopping malls that ended up being closed and later demolished was a staple in the college town of Boulder, Colorado, and went by the name of Crossroads Mall.

Remembering Boulder Colorado's Crossroads Mall

There are few places that stand out as big parts of my childhood more than Boulder's Crossroads Mall. As a child, my family and I would visit my grandmother in Boulder nearly every other weekend and always spent a considerable amount of time walking around the mall.

I have fond memories of buying Spider-Man action figures at KayBee Toys, Goosebumps books at Walden Kids, an Earthworm Jim Super Nintendo video game at the video game shop, and CDs by bands including Green Day, Nirvana, and Everclear at both Camelot Music and Sam Goody.

However, after being a staple since first opening in 1963, Boulder's Crossroads Mall closed its doors for good in 2004 and was demolished shortly thereafter.
