Grand Junction's Record High Temp
The hottest high temperature ever recorded in Grand Junction, Colorado, was a high of 107 degrees, which occurred July 9th, 2021. The record was part of a twelve-day heatwave that brought daily high temperatures of 98 degrees or more to the largest community in Mesa County.

The unbearable heat would return to Grand Junction once again in July of 2023. During the 31 days in July, only 7 days featured a high temperature under 99 degrees that month. The Grand Valley lived up to its high desert reputation once again and reached the record high of 107 degrees for a second time on July 17th, 2023.
Record High Temp in Montrose
By comparison, the hottest daytime high ever recorded in Montrose, Colorado, dates back to August 1st, 1947. The city recorded a temperature of 106 degrees that day. After that blazing hot day in 1947, the city of Montrose would only get as high as 100 degrees one more time between 1947 and 2002. Since 2002, the city has reached 100 degrees or higher on nine different occasions.
