Devil's Doorway (1950)

The 1950 Western Film 'Devil's Doorway' is supposed to take place in Wyoming, but it was shot in Aspen, and Grand Junction, Colorado. In the trailer above, the canyons and sagebrush look very familiar to anyone who has gone hiking in the Colorado National Monument or McInnis Canyon Conservation Area. American Flyers (1985)

The 1985 film 'America Flyers' co-starring Kevin Costner, features a high-energy bike race through the Colorado National Monument. If you love hiking and biking in the Monument, this film is a must-see. How much of the incline through the Monument do you think Costner rode himself, and how much was the stunt double? Just kidding, Mr. Dutton.

The Lucky Ones (2008)

The 2008 film The Lucky Ones starring Tim Robbins was filmed in both the Colorado National Monument and portions of it were also filmed in Glade Park. How many movies made in the Centennial State can also say that? If you have spent time visiting Miracle Rock or the Potholes on the Little Dolores River, you might be able to recognize some of the backgrounds that appear in this movie.
