The city horticulture team will share how to prep the soil, how they select plants and layouts, color combinations, and how to prepare these plants for winter later in the year.

Downtown Plant Walks take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 to 10:30 AM. Join one walk or come back each month to watch downtown transform throughout the summer and into the fall.

  • July 16th: Wednesday, 9 to 10:30 AM
  • July 19th: Saturday, 9 to 10:30 AM
  • August 13th: Wednesday, 9 to 10:30 AM
  • August 16th: Saturday, 9 to 10:30 AM
  • September 17th: Wednesday, 9 to 10:30 AM
  • September 20th: Saturday, 9 to 10:30 AM

How To Register for A Downtown Plant Walk

Attending a plant walk is as easy as signing up online, then meeting the group at one of Grand Junction's downtown coffee shops to start the walk. A cup of coffee or tea is included in the walk. Walks are open to guests age 16 or older. The cost is $10. 

You can select a walk in July, August, or September with this link. Once you register, additional details will be provided by Grand Junction Parks and Rec.
