Colorado Rockies Legend Sadly Announces Retirement After 14 Amazing Seasons

Catching a game at 20th and Blake in Downtown Denver at the beautiful Coors Field Ballpark is a spring and summertime tradition in Colorado. Even if you know absolutely nothing about baseball, Rockies games at Coors Field are always a blast.

With so many casual fans going to Colorado Rockies games, it's tough for them to keep up with the current player lineups so most will latch onto a player that's been on the team for a long time, like Todd Helton for example.

Others like Trevor Story, Carlos Gonzalez, Troy Tulowitzki, Nolan Arenado, and more over the years have given even people going to their very first game at least one person to cheer for. One name who everybody knew, just announced his retirement, and Rockies fans are bummed to lose this legend.

Charlie Blackmon Announces Retirement From The Colorado Rockies

Say it isn't so... Fan favorite, and the best beard in Baseball, Charlie "Chuck Nazty" Blackmon, is calling it a career after this season wraps up at Coors Field on Sunday, September 29th. Drafted by the Rockies in 2008 and making his major league debut on June 7th, 2011, Chuck quickly became a fan favorite for Denver's lackluster baseball team.

From his signature beard to his iconic walk-up music (Toniiiight!), there will be so much to miss about good ol' number 19 when going to games at Coors Field... Here's Charlie's full goodbye that he posted yesterday afternoon...

As a day-one Rockies fan, and someone who has considered Chuck to be my favorite player for the last decade, Thank you Mr. Nazty for your loyalty to a team that quite frankly didn't deserve to hold your talents for your entire career, and for being the best part of Rockies games for years. We hope you hit some bombs in your final games this weekend at Coors Field. In closing... Here's the best walk-up song in baseball, one more time...
